Rivet removal
I'm trying to install a sway bar, but to do that, I have to remove two rivets. I've started on the first. Its on the driver's side. I have ground off the top of it with a grinder. I've been using a punch and hammer to push the rivet through. So far I've only moved it about a 1/16th. I've sprayed it with PB Blaster several times. Any suggestions?
I know that many of you on the board have done this mod. I figure someone can give me some advice. Thanks

I ran into the same problem. I ended up drilling them out after flattening the tops with the grinder. Beware of hot shards of metal!

Pretty much need an air chisel. The best way is to knock off the head with a chisel and then switch to a punch and drive it through if the air chisel isn't quite powerful enough to take the head off drill it with the biggest bit you have first and it'll make it easier. You can probably blow em through with a plasma as well.

I drilled mine out, make sure your drill bits are SHARP and I left my cordless drill in the case and used my elec. drill. As mentioned watch out for hot pieces of metal and protect them eyes. Doug

Air chisel -old rivet gun will do in a jiffy. I have an old air craft factory rivet gun that I use. They ricochet like bullets. Be carefull. "Goggles"
