Smile Few things I have done (a little long)

Heres a few things I've done to my truck since I have had it. No major resto stuff yet, but thats coming soon.

Pic 1: My cheap Wal-Mart seat cover hiding the duct tape seat.
Pic 2: The radio I got from Lemield installed but not hooked up yet, the heater controls I just got yesterday from 71swb4x4 installed, my new hurst indy shifter and fire extinguisher installed.
Pic 3 & 4: The rust (or lack of metal) I found on the driver side when I ripped off the duct tape and piece of tin the PO had put on.
Pic 5: The new HEI installed that I got from tommy knotts.

The heater controls, radio, and driver's rocker discovery I did today...the first time I got to work on it at its new home up here in Wilkes-Barre. I also discovered someone butchered the radio opening on my dash, hopefully it will look OK if I trim it a bit. I also got to stump a foreigner at the gas station today "Where you put gas in?" .

I already have most of the patch panels for the truck (bought them from zeeklu when I got the fenders from him). The only thing I need still is the driver side outer rocker panel. Does anyone have a tri-plus one for sale? The only reason I want tri-plus is because everything else I have is tri-plus.

When I get a welder I will start putting in patch panels....I would like to get that done over the summer. Now I need buy a welder and learn to weld

Thanks,
Mike

PS: Here is some old before pics.

My '69 White Longhorn had the exact same seat cover! Does your truck have PS?

Not really interested in PS for the inline right now. When I swap to a v8, whenever that is, I might switch over. It's really not as bad as I originally thought manual steering was gonna be. Now if you had a rebuilt 1bbl rochester carb I would be .

I learned to drive on my 75 Chevy Van with no power steering or brakes and a 3 on the tree. It was an adventure but I loved it. I can't wait to get my 67 C10 (no ps,no pb, 3 on the tree) on the road so I can enjoy this once again. It does build muscle, drawing my bow should be easier now!

You guys are acting like a bunch of women We had more than a few Loadstars and Fleetstar IH trucks on the farm and NOT ONE had powersteering................Ever try to back in somewhere tight with the truck tipping in on the scales at 33K with no PS? Gotta keep the truck moving and they don't steer bad at all, just don't stop and try to move the wheels

Personally, I love driving a tight 3 on the tree setup............All ours are now on the floor. We had two 3spd trucks, the one was our farm truck so we were in 1st and reverse most of the time so the tree was worn out..........It got converted...............My C-20 was the last holdout, but the shifter had to leave the tree when the Cummins went in I miss it on the tree, but the engine makes up for it

Thanks Chris....let me know, cause I think mine needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

TP im not complaining about no PS...I kinda like it because no one wants to drive it, I tell them it's as hard to turn moving as it is stopped . I only drove a 3 on the tree setup once when I was looking at a truck. It was very sloppy. Mine came with the floor shift from the PO, I just upgraded to the hurst because the one they put in sucked .

That thing was so old...I don't think the internet was born yet . It had a home made piece of pipe on it so it would reach the driver. The pipe was stripped and and swivelled whenever you tried to shift.....It was just .

EDIT: LOL posted just after you. Man these Wally world seat covers seem to be quite popular

Tanks haywagon, I enjoy being here. My best friend grew up in Levittown, me in Buckingham near Doylestown. I personally loved driving a 3 on the tree in my 75 van (people used to do a doubletake- a van with a manual?) Of course this was the 80s and most of my friends had never heard of 3 on the tree I can't wait to get my 67 on the road, and I love the no ps, you just got to keep it moving, that's all. The two Nissans we acquired over the last three years are the only cars I've had that do have power steering. Gotta love the three on the tree

Lemield I got the radio finally hooked up. I bought 2 cheap 6x9's and boxes from wal-mart yesterday. I got the EQ and everything hooked up and its sounds great for the setup. I mounted the EQ under the heater controls using the screw from the controls. Where did you have it mounted in your setup?

Matt no PS isn't to bad....I actually don't think its too hard to move even when stopped. Then again the ps in my van doesn't always cooperate so I got used to it .

Chevy fatman, If you still have that I-6 PS setup, you should put it on the parts board for sale. There's several people on here looking for that. I've talked to some this week.

No problem. I just ordered the rebuild kit and float from advanced auto tonight. I guess I'll take a stab at rebuilding a carb....haven't done that yet.
