Depends if you even need that kind of flow in the first place. There has been issues of fuel pooling with the air gap manifold on a DD in stop & go traffic on cooler days. If you engine makes power to 5500 and you have $70 extra bucks go for it.

Isolating the intake from the lifter valley may seem like somthing new but its OEM old school stuff. My 56 Buick has an air gap manifold on it from the factory, doesent make it fast. What I'm getting at is there are better ways to controll heat transfer. You may not be able to pop you hood and show the of an air gap but if your more serious about power then looks just get the non airgap RPM, then call Jegs for a #71025050.

The performer RPM might be a good choice. Not a bad intake for $135. It's rated from 1500-6500 rpm. IMO the Air Gap manifolds would be great for street/strip combinations that would see mostly weekend action. Their design would only be noticed on a et/mph slip or dyno sheet mainly. My .02

You may want to ask this over in the Engine section also. IIRC there was some discussion about this same topic months ago.

Then the #710-25050 and the standard RPM will make more power. Trust me on this one.

From what ive heard, the real difference between the two is depending on the weather. In colder weather, I have heard that ice will form under the air gap, and cause harder cold starting and running, while this doesn't happen on the performer. So if it stays mostly warm where you live, I would go with the airgap. but if its cold alot, I would go with the performer.
