R&R A/C evaporator ........HELP???
I have to replace my evaporator on my 84 Chevy Silverado. Can I do that by just removing the right side (facing the engine) of the A/C box? Will I need a new gasket between the two halfs of the A/C box when I do that? Any idea where I can find the rubberized stuff that goes on the line outside the box?

Im not sure about taking just the side off. When I did mine I wanted to clean every thing out. I removed the inner fender to access the lower bolts on the A/C box. I pulled the a/c box out of the engine comp. It took about 30 min. Rebuilt A/C box on the work bench. The sealer is Strip Calking from any auto paint store or hardware store. Be sure to clean the old stuff off and put enough new calking in to seal. On some trucks they spray something like under coat over the seam at the A/C box to fire wall. Matt
