Want your opinions thanks

Hi everyone,
I have a 72 SWB custom C10 that I want to fix up (it was actually it real good shape 5 years ago but I drove it full time until a year and half ago).

I would be interested in getting some feedback on some of the things I want to do. I've attached pictures below (sorry about the quality). These pictures are 6 years and right after I had it painted.

1. Trim: I've gone back and forth over whether to put on the bottom trim(my truck is the only one I've seen with only top trim) (this truck was the cheapest model but it had factory power brakes and auto transmission and only top trim (but no radio and it had a 6 cylinder- I've included pictures of the odd air cleaner needed to clear the booster) my understanding is that this truck belonged to the brother of the chevy dealer in Jetmore KS.

2. Color: I kind of want to switch the color to either "Tangiers orange" or "Hawaiian Blue" because I like those colors better than the current color. I've pretty much convinced myself that this wouldn't be feasible since I don't have a lot of money.

3. Two-tone? related to #1 I want to do a two tone but I would have to add the bottom trim and also it wouldn't look right unless I got the bright molding for the windshield and back glass.

4. I'm also considering lowering the truck some.

this board is great and there's a treasure trove of info which will help me with my truck.
thanks

To me your truck is beautiful as is. I agfree that A different color would be my first choice, but if you don't hve a lot of cash and as nice is that is, I would keep it for now. Maybe some wider wheels and tires for starters. I use my trucks to much for lowering, but a slight (like 2/3) might be the look your after and still maintain useability.

Welcome to the board.

Don't rush into anything, I am sure we can give you about a thousand recommendations to ponder over, then decide what you want.

thanks for the feedback

thanks but it doesn't look like this right now because:
my wife wrecked the tailgate and the clear coat has peeled off in a number of places and few other things, but it's still pretty nice

I am going to get some aluminum or alloy wheels

I like the bottom mouldings, most venders sell them. Keep the white top and pick the color you like, even if you put the lower mouldings on, you can add white to the middle to match the top, or white top only.

You could bring that white down to the molding and use it a seperation point to your new bottom color. Slam it and throw on some meats. Just a different view.

I like it with only the top molding. Its a little different from everyone else's on this board. After seeing yours, I'm tempted to take the bottom molding off of mine.

Welcome from a Wichita native. Rims always are a nice addition and make big changes to our trucks. A little drop (or even alot of drop) is always nice too.

I like the trim/color combo as it is.Lower the stance, makes a big change in attitude.I`d stay with Rallyes unless you`re going to hot rod it.

Lower it and you will be amazed at the difference. The paint looks good, wheels and tires are always a good investment.

Your turck looks good as is. If you want to lower it I would go with airbags so you can change the height.

1. The truck does look a little awkward without the bottom trim, ever thought about losing the trim completely? Cheaper than buying and adding the bottom trim.

2. Without buying the bottom trim pieces you can save money to paint it whatever color you want.

3. See #1.

4. I prefer stock trucks, but they look good with 2 1/2 drop spindles and 4" lower springs in the rear. If you drop it, I'd consider some shorter in height tires. It looks good stock, but the tires look too big for a drop truck. I think it would also look "cleaner" lowered without the upper trim.

Welcome to the board from beautiful greenville, sc. You have an awesome truck. It's all really up to you. All of the above are my opinion and can-not be used or reproduced without my expressed written consent and can not be held against me in a court of law
