71 Cheyenne done *Pics*
Some other pre-completion pics here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=159857 I got all the moldings installed and the new tonneau cover on. I also installed the new hood hinges....what a difference (previous gap can be seen in the post above) Here is the completed product. I have put on about 30 miles now and she runs smooth as silk and oil pressure is steady and the temp has not risen above 190* (usually stays right at 185*). The 4L60E overdrive is *****in!! Hood gap now: 99 Tahoe 2nd row seats: New dash, sterring wheel and Van tilt column: Thanks guys for all the tips, both directly and via searching and browsing!!! Tim

Truck looks great! What did the steering wheel come off of? Did you need and adapter to mount it?

It's just a Grant....got it from Summit Racing. It was the only one that seemed somewhat period specific and didn't look cheap and plastic'ey

Tim, do you have a part number? Also I would like some pics of the engine and tranny. I'm getting ready to do that in swap in my 69 suburban. Did you use an aftermarket harness? Who flashed your computer? Thanks,
Rob

Here is the steering wheel at Summit (GRT-697):
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...=KeywordSearch I bought the TunerCat tuning package (software and cable)...I have used TunerCat before (94 LT1/T56 in my 240Z) and I like the interface.... I adapted the OEM Suburban harness. Here are some pics (these were during the conversion, I don't have any pics since):

Did the seat mounts line up with the stock ones or did you have to make new mounting locations in the floor.

Some lined up, others I had to drill. I drilled a couple of holes in the seat frame to match existing bolt holes in the floor, and a couple of new holes in the floor...

Did you use a glove box door for your gauge panel?

Nah, just cut out a piece of sheet aluminum. I used the original as a template onto cardboard, then transfered to the aluminum.

Hey on those seats are they power? How did you mount them using their track and frame or you original?

No power....only the front seats in the Sub/Yukon are power AFAIK. I used the frame from the second row seats, nothing from the original bench seats were used....

Really sharp - lot of cool things you have done.
That 73 240Z must be a handful - sounds like great plans for it.

Good lookin truck.
Weird how your interest parallel mine. I've had 8 or 9 Z's. Was doing a F@#D 5-0/T-5 swap on the last one but discovered a badly tweeked frame and ended up tossing it. Wanted a Manta before them. Never got one. Guy is building one down the way. Tight engine bay...
