Theres an open spade on the fusebox that has ign over the top of it. That is a keyed hot feed. That is where I had my electric fan hooked up at first until I put it straight to the battery and hooked it up to a toggle switch

Oky so that would be a key on power. That's what I need. I would hook up the battery but when I do that I want to start the truck. This way when I get the fan and temp gauge wired up I can jump in and break in the motor.

I got the painless kit that comes on at 185 off at 170. I needed a power all the time I got that from the little block that used to be mounted on the inner fender and I needed a key on power. I took the black wire that went from the relay to the switch in the cyl head and I added a toggle switch that goes to ground. That way I can turn the fan on when I need it or it the switch goes faulty. It also would be handy if someone else takes it out the switch in the head will take care of cooloing dutys.

thats pretty much a similar set up that i had. I had the relay in there that kicked the fan on and off automatically. I put the toggle switch in there so I could shut the fan off when parked so it wouldn't drain the battery if i was worried about it.
