Highliner headliner worth it?

I think that is the name of the big plastic/fibreglass headliner that has a spot for a CD deck and 4 speakers in it. I don't want to cut my dash, and I like the high radio idea, so I figure that would work well, and with the speakers up there, they will be safe from feet, tools etc. Also, how do you mount it up there? It looks like it uses the factory visor mounts at the front, but what about the rear? Anyone know off hand what size speakers it holds? Anyone have one of these, and if so, how do you like it? Thanks!

It is held in by screws. I think the speakers are about 5". Most people seem to be happy with them.

Looks like this might be the answer to my audio problems. Does it come with speakers in it (I hope not, the ones I saw looked junky) or do I install my own? Just asking because 5" isn't a real common size, while 5.25" or 4" is. I suppose I could do a bit of modifying to make something fit. Who sells these things now, or do I have to ebay one when they pop up?

I saw the one on ebay and may bid on it. Will a DIN sized CD deck fit in that front part in the middle that looks like it has 2 knobs on the bottom of it? That's what I'm looking to do is get ALL the audio equipment up and away from feet and prying eyes.

Also, has anyone ever put different speakers in one? The ones it comes with look pretty cheap, and I'm wondering if there would be room for a couple pair of alpine or JL entry level 4" up there.

On topic - I want one of these headliners. You could probably work in some better speakers.

Off topic - Dude - a 1977 Dodge Charger Daytona!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dad had one of those. Handled great, ate alternators and thermoquads though! Silver and Black - man. The memories.

On Topic: I was thinking I could probably slightly modify that headliner to fit something better too. It doesn't have to be anything that gets rank loud or anything, as its right above my head.

Off Topic: Yep, mine is silver and black too. Two tone red vinyl/grey corduroy interior. Bucket and fold down armrest, rally wheels, 360 2 barrel. Here's a pic.

Yup that's it. My dads had black interior, Buckets with Console, Rally's and a 360 4bbl. I just gave the car away last year for free.
