Brake line replacement

The old farm truck is running, now it is time to make the thing stop. I have non-power, drum brakes all around. The front brakes have decent pressure, but I have not opened any of them up, yet, to see what is going on inside. The rear brakes are gone. The first problem I have to address is a busted front to rear steel line. As far as I know, all of the lines are original. I am considering replacing all of the brake lines with a complete set.

Anyone use one of the catalog sets to replace all of the steel brake lines? Good/bad experiences? Any helpful info about line replacement, before I jump in?

i got a stainless set from lmc fit correctly and was easy to install

I used InLineTube.com They went on pretty easy, and I just like being able to talk to someone on the phone who actually seems to know what they are talking about. I have yet to experience that with LMC.

I was in the same situation as you a few months ago. except my steel lines were fine but the rubber ones were clogged.

I replaced my lines with stainless steel ones from inlinetube. They were about 98% correct....I needed to tweak them just a bit here and there. I also purchased the clip kit, I don't feel it was worth it. When I called them the guy I talked to said he had a 69 c-10 and seemed he knew what he was talking about. It's not hard to change them, I did mine with a new master cylinder in about 4 hours...would have been sooner but my brother kept screwing around. IMO I think the stainless is worth the extra money.

4 hours? With the cab and bed on the frame? That is awesome. I was thinking it would be a whole weekend thing with the truck together.

Of course, when I try it, it MIGHT take me a whole weekend...
