700r4 Tranny

I recently put in a TPI 350 and 700r4 tranny. Well I got the engine running, but the tranny is having some problems. I've tried to adjust the TV cable, but that didn't help any. So basically I think the junkyard 700r4 is pretty much toast.

So my options are
1) Having this one rebuilt. The problem with this is the tranny is out of an 86 astro van, and I've read that the 86 and older trannies were pretty much junk to begin with (of course I read this after I bought it). So I don't really think I want to rebuild a piece of junk

2) Buying a already rebuilt one from a tranny shop (one of the 87 and newer ones). This might be a good option, but they really seem to range in price.

3) Buy a GM remanufactured stock one for the Camaro enigine that's now in my truck

4) Buy a new one from a company like TCI. It would be a little higher performance than the GM reman. which would be good, cause I might do some upgrades to the engine as time goes on (already has headers and cold air induction, so I should already past the stock HP)

So what would you do if you were in my shoes and why?

Have the one you have built by a reputable local, they will install the later parts as upgrade(most do it to all). Have them set the TV cable & you're good. Brian

I installed a 700R4 from Monster Motorsports. It's built to last. Monster Motorsports 352-683-8384. They ship all over the world, mention# 212772.
