Question Header's Type?

Currently I am running a SB400 with a set of dynomax headers. THe headers have turned many different colors through out their life, and I was curious as to what type of headers everyone is using. I'm planning on lowering the truck, not drastically, to give it a better appearance. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Later!

My son went with Hedman Elites for his Blazer, and the coating went away in 6 months. I've been told that a lot of header companys put light coatings on, and this doesn't last long. I bought the regular Hedmans and had them Jet-Hot coated...Much more money, but lifetime warranty......

I bought Headman Torque-Stepsand had them triple-coated with ceramic(flat black/silver/flat black)locally. It cost $200.The thing they do(coaters)is media blast first. That makes the bond permanent.Years ago(over 20)I sandblasted some headers and painted them with VHT.It stayed on for years, until headers went south. There are 3/4 length headers for low trucks.ECE sells them, not cheap.I`ve always used long tubes and I`m careful.Headers aren`t the only thing you don`t want bottoming.A low truck(within reason)is no lower than most cars.

Headers

I went with Sanderson ceramic coated headers on my 68 C-10. They work great and no gaskets to leak, all you use is Black Hi - Temp RTV.

I have headman 68600 chevelle shorty's. I wanted them over the Sandersons/ECE because the Sandersons have samll 2 1/2" collectors and 1 1/2" primarys the Headmans have 3" collector and 1 5/8" primarys. You need to use Northwest Auto Fabs mmotor mount to clear the motor mount. They NWAf Mounts will move your motor to the 6 cly position. I am really not a big fan of the ball flange yet it's tough getting the ball flange onto 3" I had to do it by hand with pliers I grinded to shape and a ball pean hammmer.
