How does the door handle come off on these things?
Hey guys!
I've got the door handle unbolted, but I cannot figure out how the rod is suppost to come off the handle. I am busy prepping the truck for primer, as I cannot put the interior back together until I have the roof primed... Anyone have any idea? lol

There is a clip that is a royal PITA that holds teh rod from the handle to the door lock mechanism. Once you get it free and the door handle bolts are both out, push the button in and jiggle the handle out. It is impossible to get the rod loose from the handle, the clip will need to come free at the lock. I find it easier to pull the lock loose to get at the clip. FWIW, the second one seems a whole lot easier.

The clip has a locking tab on the end. If you place a small flathead screwdriver blade under the tip and push it down with another one you can pull the rod out.
