A/C compressor kicks on and off
I can hear (and feel) the A/C compressor kicking on and off when the A/C is runnin on my '85 GMC.
Anybody know what causes this? Thanks

You are probably a little low on freon. When the low side gets below the pressure switch cut-off, the system will shut down. It's short cycling.

That's correct. This is a built in safety feature if your AC system is low on freon. Get it charged up and you should be good to go.

Thanks fellows,
Earl, It cycles more like every 5-10 seconds. I'll get her charged. Sounds like thats probably the problem. Thanks again! Dwayne
