WTB Pair of 1/2 or 3/4 ton axles, WI
Looking for a good used set of 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton axles with aprox a 4.10 gear ratio. Preferably 1/2 ton stuff but will consider 3/4 if you have a set of 15x8 steelies to go with them. Something around the western WI area or in reasonable distance. Let me know what you have and what you'd like to get for them. Need to get my new '46 Willy's CJ2A project started.

axles
I have a 10 bolt front and 14 bolt (9.5" ring gear) rear w/4.10 gears out of an 86 chevy K2500 8 lug. I'll take $350 for the pair but I'm 100 SW of KC.

I am considering parting out my '77 1/2 ton, if you are interested in the axles we may be able to work something out. Only issue is I do not have the time or knowledge to remove them myself, I could probably have the local junkyard cut them out for me though if needed if I do end up going this route. I do know the rear axle is a 4.11 gear though. I am not too far away from you though, the truck is located about 5 miles out of Janesville, WI. Here is the original ad for the truck as well, email address is in that thread.

amscholtz: This isnt meant to be a smart a$$ remark but you have a 2 wheel drive truck with only a rear axle, I need the front and rear axle out of a 4 wheel drive truck.
57ringo: Thats not a bad deal but the drive isnt what I'm looking for, but I'll keep you in mind. Thanks anyways. |

I'm really just starting to get the pile of parts built up so when I get time to work on it I have something to work with. It's still gonna be another 6 months to a year before this jeep gets torn down as I'm trying to get a new house first.

i've got a buddy in Mokena. Ill who has a set of 3/4 tons (10 bolt front/14SF rear) that i believe have 4.10s in them. he just upgraded to 1 tons, so he may be looking to get rid of his. its a bit of a drive, but if the price is right, it might be worth it.

Didn't see that you needed a 4x4 set, no problem, I'm not the best with this stuff anyway.

I've got 1/2 ton axles, but not with the ratio you want. They are 3.40. But they come complete. Taken out of my 82 Chevy Scottsdale. I was looking for 350 for both. The fronts are automatic locking hubs with good calipers and rotors. The pads are about 25% left. The rear has good drums and wheel cylinders but the shoes are about 25% or less left on them to.
Like I said, they came off from my 82 and were working when removed. I just upgraded to 3/4 ton with 3.73 and full floating rear. Since they have been removed, they have been garaged so they are not sitting out in the rain or the mud. Would be willing to budge on the price if interested. No seal leaks on these and they had new lube put in about 5,000 miles ago. The rear also has a new pinion seal and yoke that has about 5,000 miles on that to. These were in a diesel. Not sure if the axles differed between diesel and gas. They are 6 bolt pattern. You are about 4 hours away from me. I have friends that live in Arkansaw, WI who I am due to visit soon. I believe that is about a hour from you? If interested, drop me a line. Maybe we could work something out. Just a thought for ya.

That sounds like a better deal. I was just in Illinois last weekend. Spent the weekend in Greenview, IL and on Sat. we drove to St Louis to watch the NHRA qualifiers. (I found the engine to my truck! )
89Z71, I would go for the set in IL. They sound more like what you are looking for.

I'm going to be picking up a complete '76 Blazer 4wd. I think the ratio is 3.07 open, but you can have both axles for $200. I'm in the St. Cloud, MN area, and could meet you in the twin cities, if needed.
pm me if you're interested. Paul

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to have to set this aside for awhile because I found an '84 blazer 4x4 that could be a doner or maybe a daily driver. They want $1000 for it because of a new edlbrock(sp?) carb but the floor is almost completely gone so I'm gonna offer $700. I will deffinetly keep everyone in mind though. Thanks again, Drew
