tach jumping around
in my brothers chevelle hes got a 5in auto meter tach and the need jumps around, whats causing that?

Mine does this. Is it a Pro Comp tach? I think mine may be the distributor. I was told it was in the wiring, but I changed all of it and it still does it.

i think if it is an hei your wire that goes to the part on the cap is lose, or it isn't grounded right, ground it some where else or if that doesn't fix it, your tach might be going south

well hes had 2 different ones and they both have done the same thing, and its the autogauge one

I've only had tachs jump around when they had bad grounds.
