Blazer Body on a Rotisserie?
My dad is trying to convince me to build a rotisserie to put my Blazer on, so that he can use it to put his 67 GTO on when I'm finished with it. Has anyone used a rotisserie to repair the body on their Blazer? Any Pics of one with a Blazer on it? Besides bracing up the door areas are there any other areas that I should brace up to keep the body from flexing while on the rotisserie?

There was a thread about a blazer on a rotisserie quite a while ago, maybe even a year ago. Someone also was selling one to another board member. Unfortunately, I don't think the search function is working.

rotiserie
Here is a picture of mine. You could easily build this yourself if you are any kind of welder.
You will need to brace from the door hinge mounts to the strikers. At any rate, you will need to readjust the body with shims whenever you remove one. remember it is a convertable. Also, I would recomend replacing the rockers first. |

Thanks Tom. I was thinking to put mine on the rotisserie to get at all of the underside repairs easily, then mount it back on the frame before I started working on the rockers and door jambs and such. Of course I'm starting with a tub that isn't mounted in the first place.

More pics
Here is one after media blasting, The tub is back on the frame now...finally. We put it on the rotisserie to coat the bottom of the tub in a product called,"cool car ceramic", which is a pretty neat spray on insulater. The frame is powder coated, and supposidly they are finishing the blocking in prep for paint. This has taken a year! sigh... more pics to follow...soon.

I just made 2 towers, placed them @ each end, and welded short pieces of 2'' sched 40 pipe to the body. Lifted the tub up and slid the pipe into the tower....she spins real easy. I secured it at certain angles while working on it by simply strapping it down to the towers.
