What did you get done?

It's a little early in the day still but I wanted to get this done. I have plans for the evening si I thought I would post now before it's too late.

I worked all weekend trying to get everything ready for my trip to Salt Lake City next week. I spent the past few days getting all of my accounts serviced.

Today I worked in the yard trying to tame my jungle before I leave. Everything that's in the shade is over grown, and everything that's in the sun is burnt up. I just love the Texas heat

Beyond that I didn't do much. Ate a little BD cake this morning and getting ready to go to a nice dinner somewhere. I'm thinking Outback sounds good.

What did you get done....?

I washed, clay-barred, and waxed a car that has no engine or trans in it.

I don't want it to burn up in the Texas sun before I can get it done.

Almost got my boat ready to run...bolted the engine down and rewired the whole thing. Making wiring harnesses from scratch is not fun...

Shelly and I had our wedding reception in our backyard Saturday afternoon. We had about 60 people over and had a blast. The weather was P-E-R-F-E-C-T, we questimated very close on food (except beer, which we ran out of ), and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time.

The rest of the weekend? We spent it getting ready for the reception all afternoon/evening Friday, and the first part of Sunday cleaning up.

Fri night-Drank beer.
Sat-Cleaned my 65 Mustang for our cruise night, not much more because of Fri night.
Sun-Cleaned yard, pressure washed patio, back of house.
No truck work this weekend, but that is not a bad thing.
Just bought a 68 Camaro SS convertible, so will be working on that soon.

I've been getting craploads done on my truck since I am now outta school

This week I got my truck completely wired up, my engine installed, sandblasted the rest of my frame, and the pitting on my cab (found some rot in a bit of surface rust on my door, DOH, I'll have to get a new bottle of gas for the MIG before I can fix it along with my cab corners)

All that is left before I can fire my engine up is to install my 02 bung onto my driver's side header, then sandblast and paint the header, install my exhaust (its all put together already, just need to hang it up and bolt it to the headers) and install my burb tank / run fuel lines. I am headed off camping next wensday till the following Sunday, so any more progress will have to wait till later next week Unfortunately, I don't have any progress pics this week, my sister had my camera for most of the week, and the rest of the week the weather has been really crappy, and since my camera sucks in the relative dark of my shop on rainy days, I haven't got any pictures, lol

A previous week I replaced and rerouted the rubber vacuum hoses on the truck. All 16 feet of them. I still have a couple of long hoses left to replace. This weekend I replaced the ignition switch. Not 73-87 related, but rod related. I attended the Rocky Mountain Street Rod show. As usual, a lot of nice rods (~2,000). I got a chance to see one of radest(?) rods. It was featured in the latest Rodder's Journal in bare metal. It's got color now. Quite a build out of a shop named Pinky's.

Nothing truck related. Getting ready to get my Blazer back up and running again. Needs new water pump, alternator and 2 new 35"s. Waiting for my paycheck on Wednesday and it should be done by thurs. or fri. Worked all weekend and hung out with some friends for a little while. Helped my dad pack up his house to move for a couple of hours.
Ohh yeah, hoping to go check out a '84 Chevy Camaro that this guy wants to trade for my '88 pickup.

Nothing truck related this weekend...

My father in law has been on chemotherapy for a couple of months, and has not been able to ride his motorscooter during that time. He called Friday and asked me to take it for a ride Saturday. I was happy to oblige since it is a 400cc Suzuki Burgman. I know 400cc is not much for a motorcycle, but it is a HUGE motorscooter. It is fuel injected, water cooled, and has front and rear disk brakes. Really nice.

I rode one of my scooters on an errand, then rode my other scooter over to his house 30 minutes away. I rode his from San Antonio up into Bandera, Texas in the hill country. It was a nice ride, about 75 miles round trip. My old '85 Honda Elite felt like a piece of junk after riding that thing.

The rest of Saturday and all of Sunday was spent trimming trees and cleaning up the yard. Today is our city's twice yearly trash/brush pickup day, so everything had to be done this weekend. Using the pole saw all weekend made my tennis elbow flare up, and now my right arm hurts. Poor me.

Friday night around 2 am a cousin and uncle of mine dropped off a 78 c20 suburban. Looked at it briefly Saturday, mainly for casting numbers. Has a GM crate motor. Found 2 broken pushrods and 1 lifter MIA. Most likely a cracked flywheel, newly rebuild th400 rolls in park. Now it's mine so will most likely be parted out in a couple of weeks.
Went for haircuts, did some yard work. Drill, tapped and welded plates to my 80 gallon air compressor tank. Mounted casters to tank. Fixed the weedwacker. Replaced rear screen door.
Sunday went to West End car show nearby. Wife forgot the camera. Too hot for much of anything else. Inflated the 2 year old's pool and the accessories. Did some more yard work. Called it a weekend.
