weekend over, what did you get done

I sanded the cab and sprayed a coat of epoxy primer, found more flaws then I thought I had afterwards Going to have to add some filler and reshape. Sprayed a test area of the blue paint I'm thinking of using. What do you think about that shade of blue non metalic single stage.

I like the blue a lot. It's good to find the problems now, rather than after paint!

I went to another salvage yard. Found a fan shroud that was in one piece, an AM radio (don't know if it works or not) he said I could return it if it doesn't, found 2 GMC horn caps, and, Oh Ya, I almost forgot, a set of 67-68 tow hooks  .

Pulled the damn valve cover and resealed it for the 4,370,000th time hoping to stop an oil leak. (yes I've tried a different valve cover.) This time I put RTV on the head as well as on the cover.

I finished dressing the wires under the hood with 3/8 black plastic loom. Hooked up the flex fan, The only thing that would fit between the serpentine setup and the radiator. took it on the road for a longer test ride about 50 miles. Man am I glad it's back on the road.
Also went to all GM carlisle on Saturday, If you want GM cars/parts they had it. It is a small show compared to all truck or spring/fall shows.

well, I filled sanded & primed most of my truck. The front brake drums need to be turned and the whole system fine tuned and I could be drivin it( back keep locking up ) but damn it I'm so tired of seeing it in faded out red paint with patches worn away to the metal and every colour under the sun spilled all over it ( P O was a house painter ) I had to get it one solid colour. Body work isn't perfect but I've seen worse come out of shops and it feels better to have it looking like something is happening besides all the mechanical stuff that doesn't show. And my daughter might not call it "old rusty" anymore.

Not much truck stuff. Yard work on Saturday. Saturday afternoon the son and I went to see herbie and watch the latest Hot Wheels Accelerators Movie. Also had to squeeze in some computer jobs. Got my 1972 lawnmower running, now some tweaks and stuff to smooth it out and make it more liveable.

Helped Dad install his new(fully rebuilt) 700r4 tranny in his '85 Suburban. The install went smooth, it just needs the detent cable adjusted and it'll be ready to go. I'm planning on fixing up the exhaust on my truck this week, putting it back to stock, except with a 18" glasspack.

I laughed and cried, as I watched my Navy Daughter ship off to Bahrain.
She will be there for a year. I know that we are not the only family going through this.
Just don't know what to expect.
Thanks,
Matthew
