proper way to hook up a detent cable onto a 600 cfm carter afb manual choke
ok on my carb the detent cable is hooked up to the outer part of the arm it hooks too and i think that is causing to not open up all the way and isnt allowing the full pressure of the trans to kick in during wide open throttle.so help me out what is the proper way to hook up a detent cable(gm style)on a th350 to a carter afb.

Shouldent need a special bracket unless you have the older style setup that attached the bracket directy to the q-jet. If thats the case get a newer style that mounts to the manifold only. Which dentet cable to you have the platic clip type (like 700r4's) or the one with the long metal end? If its the plastic clip type you could get one of the cheezy chrome deals in the "performance" isle at any parts store.

Just about every one of those detent cables is adjustable. Have you set your cable to kick in when it needs to? Maybe you need to extend your mounting point back from the carb just a little and then adjust the detent to pick up on a step into the carb.
