SM465 Rebuild

I am working on rebuilding the sm465 from my 78 K10. I have run into a road block, I am trying to remove the bearing from the countershaft that is on the input side of the tranny. I have tried prying it with a screwdriver in the slots in the casting, but am afraid I am going to screw somethign up, specially considering I have already mashed up part of the casting. All of this to not having the bearing budge and bloody inch. But I was wondering if anyone has had experiance with disassembling these and has run into this problem and or has any ideas for a solution. Thanks in advance.
