Aftermarket billet column and steering wheel?

I was wondering if anyone has ever done this before and added an aftermarket column. My steering wheel is broken, my column has no tilt and is pretty beat up, and the shift linkage is sloppy at the best of times. I was thinking of getting one from someone like billet specialties or something like that with either column shift auto (if available) or with no shifter and then getting a nice long lokar auto shifter for the floor. Anyone know of a good column to buy, how hard of an install this is and what the cost would be? Thanks!

There`s the Ididits and Flaming River, others I guess. They`d be bolt-in easy.I believe they range about $400 for steel, more for chrome, then aluminum, and finally polished aluminum.Don`t quote me on the price.I,ll just say their price for steel rivals the cost of a (said to be) rebuilt original.Check ClassicTruck or a Rod mag(Streetrodder...).I think they list prices in their adds.

if you measure your old column and order the proper new column they're pretty much a bolt in deal, easily done in an afternoon.

cost, depends on , plain steel, aluminum, polished, stainless for the column. and you choice of steering wheel, horn button hardware, with the shifter, backup switch hardware, led shift indicator etc. expect to pay $1000=$1200 for the whole deal column-shifter-wheel-and misc hardware

At last I checked, none of the aftermarket people had a column shift unit.
