Power brake MS Q?

I have a curious question for someone who may know the answer. If you look at a master cylinder for a non-power brake truck it sits level and flush with the firewall. Does anyone know why the Power master cylinder angles downward into the engine bay? My only guess would be so that you could never completely fill it full of fluid (due to the angle)? GM must have had some sort of reasoning behind this. Anyone have any clues?

I had to scratch my head a few times to figure out if you meant a Microsoft question or a Mississippi question (Both are MS). Then it hit me that you meant Master Cylinder.
I have wondered that myself. Especially on some of the older muscle cars. They angle upward at a pretty harsh angle.

I edited it for ya putter! It just might be one of the great mysteries of the universe, like which came first, the chicken or the egg??? The world will never know, unless someone posts an answer!

When I first added the power brakes to my 67 I took the booster/master cylinder back off twice 'cause I thought I put it together wrong, then I went back the junkyard to take a peek at a couple trucks, thinking I was missing a braket or maybe you have to modify it to work on a 67, but NOPE, the several trucks I saw all had the funky angle. Been on my truck for almost 2 years and the brakes work awesome.

i belive these m/c were in angled for any air bubbles to run up and not stay in the m/c piston area so if there is any self made bubbles it would bleed off into the resvuior

I thought that's what the rubber things were for.... the suck down to the fluid level to create a vacuum, so there is not space for air??? Once again, I don't know that for sure, just my observation
