leak

i know it is coming from under the wiper cowl, where and what do i need to do to stop it, a picture would help, it only does it when it rains

The sealer that is under your wiper cowl has dried out and is cracking. Pull the cowl off and get a tube of 3M body sealer and a putty knife. Start as far off to the side as you can reach and smear the stuff along all of the seams under the cowl. Once it sets up it will stop the leak.

hopefully if i have the time tomorrow i will do this, then i will let it set up, and use the water hose on it, hopefully it will stop the leak

Youbetcha, Go to a reputable Auto Supply and get some good grade of putty and seal over the old. That way the water won't work into a crack and feed along to a point where it will seep into the cab.

If the factory seam sealer is letting water leak in, you REALLY should remove as much of it as possible and clean up the rust underneath. That's right, it WILL be rusted underneath. How do I know, you ask??? Well, GM applies the seam sealer BEFORE they paint the body. So the metal underneath the sealer is unprotected once it dries up and shrinks a bit.

Here is what mine looks like...


Notice that the ONLY place it is rusty is under where the sealer was.
