Frame Swap?

I was wondering if a 1960-1966 shortbed frame is the same as a 1968.
My Son in law has the 68 4/WD Shortbed and the frame is broke. I was told by someone years ago that the frames remained the same until 70 or 72. Can anyone help me out on this one. I have a 65 short step and found a good parts truck with a good frame. If I could use the frame too, I'd like to buy it. Thanks Stubby

I've owned a '72 and I now own a '65 and As far as I can tell the frames are almost identical. I know that the 67-72's had a dimpled area where the steering box is mounted, and cross members might be different but they should all be interchangeable. Hope this helps

Thank you: Mr.Magooster
I have purchased a power steering gear box for my Son in laws Truck it came off a 66 model 4wd and looks like it's the same as his 68's manual box. So I'm pretty sure of the swapping of the frames, without too much trouble.
