muffler and exhaust questions

i got an 84 gmc pickup. i need a new exhaust system, i love the sound of the older muscle cars and such. they have a tingy type of sound to them. ive looked around but havent found anything. wondering if anyone could send me to a site that could help me out or give me audio clips that would tell me what mufflers make what sound on a vehicle.

Alot of the "old muscle car sound" comes from the cam, as well as the exhaust. Get a bigger cam to get a "lumpier" sound..

Capt, are those made to bolt-on to the stock exhaust manifolds?

The are made to bolt in on a LWB pickup with headers and cut to fit for a SWB with headers. The truck will need downpipes to be made if you aren't using headers.

any pics of that system on a truck???? I must admit i have seen where the x-pipe has had very little if no benefit. I also like the ease of maintenance under the truck without the x-pipe. Is this system offered without the x-pipe??? Where at on the truck does the "x" crossover at???

I don't have any pics of this installed on a truck. I have sold a number of them, but no one has sent me any pics. If I had a truck that needed exhaust that I wanted to run duals on, I would put a set on. Swervin Ervin has one on his truck, he just doesn't have pics.

I have pictures but my system isn't like the pictures and it also ended up not being able to use the x-pipe and I have two catalytic convertors. Chris has my sound wave of my exhaust as do I somewhere (cant find it). I should have let it warm up more than what it was. I don't have a subwoofer system (computer speakers) or anything so I'm not sure if it picked up the bass of the sound that much.

No, it is not offered without the X, but I can sell the tails seperately on an as order basis.

Missed this part: The X goes behind the transmission. 12"-36" behind the header flange.
