Talking Bastards that screwed up my locks, were caught!

The little bastards that tried to break into my truck, but in the end, screwed up my locks with a screwdriver, were caught the other night!

Appearantly there was about 9 of them, and they were going around the neighborhood in the middle of the night breaking into random vehicles, slashing tires, breaking glass, scratching paint with keys, etc...etc.. Well, there were 6 cop cars circling around looking for them, and they caught 7, and two escaped.

God damn little buggers! I think the cops should hand 'em over to us vehicle owners that got screwed over that night! We'll gladly make sure they never do it again

What sucks is they will probally just slap them on the wrist and send them home if there kids. You will still be left will the cost of fixing your truck back to normal. Well at least the parents will at least know whjat there brats are up to when the let them stay out late at night. They ought to make the parents pay for the damages.

Yeah, more than likely! That pisses me off!

Ah well, maybe there's a bit of good that came out of it though. It was a wake-up call for me, that thieves don't care about the vehicle most times, just what's inside of it. Now I take the face plate of my stereo inside the house at night. I know it's a piece of crap stereo, but they DON'T! For two brand new locks it cost me about $40Cdn, with 2 keys. Not bad. I had to replace one of the lock pawls inside the door, but the lady at the junkyard gave me the two I had found, for free! She had no clue what they were, so she couldn't get a price! I guess it looked like two small, dull, crusty pieces of metal to her.

Plus I got the word around the neighborhood, so neighbors are now dealing with stuff that might be tempting to thieves.

glad to hear they got caught but they probably will get away with most of it.A few years ago there was some kids here that got themselves some new BB guns for thier birthdays and went around shooting up house and car windows(the little brats got 4 of mine on the surburban) when i called the law they said that the kids did so much damage that they couldnt pay for them all.So i see where you are comeing from.Oh well lets just hope they learned there lesson

I dunno about up in the great white north, but some states (including Ohio) you can hold the parents responsable for damages.

I have heard the same thing as longhornmail.
And if thats the case, then the parents may make them work it off!
Now thats a good lesson in restitution!

Glad they caught them.
My neighbor came over and told me that someone stole his radar detector last night. I guess they've been hitting alot of (unlocked) cars in the neighborhood in the last few weeks.
I better not catch anyone messin with my stuff. I might go to jail but they'll know to never come messin around here again.

I think they should get jail time until Winter. Then take them out and stick their tounges to a stop sign til Spring. Mommy and Daddy would know where they were at night then.

Good for you...

Something tells me the punks who stole my brother's stereo out of his '94 Z28 won't get caught, though. A shame, too, it was a sweet headunit, and it doesn't look like they damaged the car at all aside from the dash...whoever it was, was good...

My guess is they looked at my cheap Aiwa, in my truck, and then looked at his expensive Aiwa, in his Z28, and went to town. They didn't even try mine. For all I know, could be the same punks who tried mine once and didn't get it...

BLUE_69- Thats right on the chevette, HS parking lot, 3 girls thougt it'd be cute to put all kinda of sh*t on my windows like mustard, shaving cream, honney, chocoate syrup. I don't care if itwas a chevette of a corvette I chewed them out in broad daylight at the car wash when they toldme itwas them. the Casey's(gas station) clerk asked someone insid if they thought she should call the cops. lets put it this way, they never touched any of my veicals since.

but anyway, glad they caught them and man you should look up the laws on that I'd thin parents would be liable too

Hey Joe send your cops out here to Saskatoon. While I was visiting friends In Vernon last weekend my car got broken into back here in Saskatoon and from what my wife said it didn't seem like they really gave a crap. It was the third attempt at it in a month. I'd like to think that with thieves attempting robberies at a rate you could set your watch by that it wouldn't be hard to catch the little buggers. Glad to see you're getting some justice.
