New Radiator Recovery Part # for you...

Remember the Rad Rcvry Sys? The main part that made it special was the cap. It is discontinued from GM, but there are still some left in stock at some dealers. The GM search will not find them all. Look/ask for part #340194. They may be white or black. Go find them!
These caps fit some the repro WS bottles and not many of the others. Try em before you buy em.
I can still provide you with the rest of the kit: correct fitting bottle, two hoses (not gas hose), bracket and cap to plug the extra tube on the cap ($35 shipped). I also have the matching new WS washer set: bottle, bracket, cap, hose w/filter ($25 shipped)...OR BOTH for $55 shipped.
...and you know I am not making any $$$ on this little stuff, it is just kind of a neat package that a lot of guys kept asking for.

This was a factory/dealer option for 67-72 trucks? Never saw a GM one, though I have saw all kinds of aftermarket expansion tanks.

Chickenwing: Not original on our trucks...but uses all original parts from our trucks. The GM dealer added were "ugly".

Longhorn Man: They fit one of the repros, but not others. I didn't try them on original because they were always old & dirty.

Warrens69gmc: emailed you

Thanks Pickmup I had suspected but was not sure. As a helpful hint, the original bottles bleach out pretty good. I used a 5 gal bucket, 1/2 a bottle of bleach, the rest water and an old chock to hold it down. A baby bottle brush helps clean out the inside. I have done a windshield reservoir and a later model expansion tank with moderately sucessfull results.

My 71 GMC owners manual shows them as an option. I actually lucked out and found a near mint one on e-bay for 30.00 for the whole stock set up from a 72 GMC out of Canada~! What a find~!

These can be ordered at:

John L. Sullivan Chevrolet (17 miles away)
700 Automall Dr
Roseville, CA. 95661
PH: (916) 782-1243
FX: (916) 782-2487

The surprise they are the only dealership in the area that showed them available.

$4.35

The parts person could not see what color they are. You must go to the dealership to order them. I can possibly help you with that if you really want one (them).

Seen this on a truck in Nashville, not sure if GM still has it as a stock item but here is a number for the Washer bottle. Like pickmup said not sure about the fit of the lid?

Frank, I am going to try and get some from a dealer in Roseville. Are you interested in more coolant recovery caps, GM # 340194? I am also going to order gas caps and maybe the plastic bottle (tank).

I would recommend you offer them to the other board members first...then I would be interested in quantities of 5 or more at a time...after others have gotten theirs.
Thanks,
Frank

I will try and get what I can though I will hold off for a few days to see if others are interested. I am not looking to make any profit from this deal and hopefully the shipping will be reasonable using USPS.

jakeslim, are you going to Turlock on 8/21 or Pleasanton on 8/26-27-28. I will be at Turlock and at the Pleasanton swap meet on 8/27 unless I can get off work on Friday, 8/26.

PICKMUP, I will order all you want just let me know. What hose are you using for these kits? Thanks.

Thanks tomatocity.
I will buy all of the caps I can get in quanities over five.
I buy a special hose (in 100' rolls) that is NOT reinforced and stiff, like gas or brake hose. It looks better and works better.
You can understand if I don't give out too much information...the neighbors are listening.

I can provide the complete kits (less cap), ready to go, for anyone that finds their own caps.

I purchased mine from Wes at Classic Heartbeat. The system comes with everything you need and it's really nice too. Wes is a great guy to deal with.
