I am always thinking a few projects ahead of what ever I am working on at the time. Ok here it is, an extended cab 72ish truck. I know their are a few out their but this is a little different. What I would use is a Burb for the donner cab. This way you get the square back upper edge of the front doors not the curved tops we have on out trucks now. I have never liked the look of the curved edge when I have seen people extend this era cab. I would want the extended doors (yes one on each side) to open. So I would need a donner passenger side B post for the driver side B post. Then I would use a regular cab truck back to cap off the Burb front. Then you would need to square up the upper rear corners of the truck cab door openings and narrow up the burbs third door to fit the extention doors. Then add a short fleet side bed to it and you would be mostly done. So am I nuts? I have the shop, Tools, and 98* of the ability to do it all so why not. Oh I almost forgot you would also need to do a slight chop to the roof (just the roof above the rain gutters) and blend it in to the front and back sections.

Yes those both are along the idea. But the black one has the truck doors so the upper corners are curved and does not look right. That is why the factory used different doors on the Burbs as you can see on the red one. They are squared off at the upper rear corner. The red one needs a truck roof in my opinion. The burb roof is just to tall when it is not streched all the way down a full roof line of a burb. They are about 2" different in hight. Also the red one did somthing weird with the cab back, it is "thick" from the back of the cab to the door. I know I am abit picky but that is just how I am

I think it looks best when the rear doors or window have the curved pickup shape to go with the roof.This is a current trend.I never liked any extend-job and thought the `Burb/Pickup hybrid would be best.The Suburban roof is higher and you`ll need to use two pickup roofs to do it right.

Totally polished has something like what you want to do it's white and gold I have seen pic son this site before but cannot seem to find them.. Maybe someone will post it..

Here is an extended cab I built for a customer . And the crew cab they were talking about . I am biulding a crew cab for myself now .

You do some nice work! That crew is SWEET I now remember seeing it in a mag along with a shortened Burb if memory serv's. That style crew would do the job real nice. Drop in a 502 and I could get rid of my PSD in a heart beat!! Also do you recall which issue that was from. I have 20yrs worth of mags (everyone I have ever bought) and it is their some where.
