Shoot first ask quesions last

I have a 85 GMC with a 305 longbed and I rebuilt the engine for the first time (cool). I mounted my tranny and cracked the one of the ears not cool anyway I had a 700 but I switched to TH 350 the tail end is 3 in. shorter than my original which was 9 in. My driveshaft doesnt reach problem. My question is what truck came with the TH 350 and a long bed so I can get another driveshaft that fits? Trying to avoid the whole buying a new one or retubing mine because in Texas that aint cheap.

Thank in advance

it's not going to be very easy but there are a few options. The most common one would be a truck with a I-6 manual trans for a 1 peice or a hunt for a short shaft 2 peice unit from an older truck. If I remeber right in a recent thread a member was looking for a 2 peice unit to replace his I-6 / 3 speed one peice unit. Maybe you could hit him up for it.

Where in TX are you? Let me know and I might be able to direct you to a reasonably priced shop. . .

Tranny

Are you interested in selling the 700 that came out of it? I need one for my son's truck.
