Yeah I made that mistake any thought they were all year specific (and they are) but they all bolt up the same 81-87 and some blazers after 87.

Original 83-84 grills were colored keyed on the strip in the middle to the paint on the body.

yea but I dont really waht to replace the head lights of the head light benzels. so im only really wanting to replace the center peice.
so if I was to buy a 83 bilit insert it would just replace the center peice right? I tried to look at the trendz grill but they done have any pictures. or price.

However you want it, I have a billet "Phantom" grille for my 84 and my son's 86. We had the billet insert for awhile and got tired of dealing with the plastic headlight trim pieces. With the full phantom billet grille, you bolt it in and there are no other pieces to deal with. The headlights shine through the grille with no problem. The only thing that is required is a set of turn signal housings from a four (4) headlight setup and you are good to go. There are several companies that make these, the latest one that I got was a "Stull" brand from Summit Racing.
