Newbie VIN help???
Hello all, after seeing a 70 GMC fleet side in my area for sale and missing my 72 Blazer I had in high school (along time ago), I think I may make the buy.
I haven't contacted the owner yet, but looking up the tag I found he is the second owner with just under 100,000 and found the VIN. I did a few searches but have yet to decipher the complete VIN. So far all I have is its a 4x2, V8 (350), and 3/4 ton. Can anyone help, I would like to know more before contacting the owner and haggling on his $3500 obo. VIN: CE2342259273 Some of the 2's may be Z's. Thanks all and great site!! |

c=2wd
e= v-8 2=3/4 ton 34=fleetside 2=this number should be a letter for an american made truck or a 1 for canadian made trucks(made it is a z for fremont plant) Z=1970 59273=serial number(remeber this number is a running total for vehicles made in that plant for the year includeing cars and vans) |

Another question
Thanks everyone!! I've been looking through the board a bit and now I have some what of an idea of what I'm looking at.
The truck seems to be in decent shape, a little rust here and there. Is there any "one" special spot that I should look at prior to buying? $3500.00 seems on the high side, but I really have no idea if this is a deal, or if there are a bunch of 3/4 tons out there worth looking at. Thanks again! Ill try to get some pics if it is parked in the same spot today. |
