Need advice about door swapping
Can anyone tell me which way is easier:
1) swapping door skins or 2) swapping all the hardware in the doors I finally got some doors that arent beat up, but they're stripped of the guts Thanks for any input |

I would go with #2) swapping all the hardware in the doors.

Definitely swapping the guts is an easier way to go. Re-skinning a door correctly is not an easy thing..the full skins are hard to find & costly, too. You should have a shop manual to help you with the installation of everthing, however, but most of it is just common sense. When you remove the guts, take notes & maybe some pictures. I just did it for the third time & I'm not very mechanically inclined. I think it took me about 4 hours. The hardest part is getting the window attaching mechanism in place..it takes a lot of fumbling around (at least for me). Force yourself to be patient. Also, while you have the stuff out of the old door, you can clean up everything lube it all & install new window whiskers & rubber (if the old stuff is bad). ..Greg
