Classic Truck Trends the 2005 edition it says its an annual magazine. I picked it up cause they were doing an article on the 50 year anniv of the small block chevy engine and was thumbing thru it and saw his truck I thought it was pretty kewl

was also wondering if Ken has any interior pics of that truck it didnt show any in the mag I would love to see what he did for the interior

Hey thanks for the compliments. That article is a scaled down version of the original article in the March 05 issue of Classic Trucks.
The interior is mostly restored to original. I have "upgraded" it a bit with power windows, remote door locks, tach dash, and a small console for my Air Ride controls. You can look in my sig for a complete photo album, but in the meantime here are some interior pics. Sorry that ones a bit blurry. I have repainted the flasher knob too...

I replaced the arm rest pads, and added factory power window switches, and power door locks (aftermarket internals).....

My Air Ride controls are mounted in a custom built console. The gauge is mounted in the ashtray....

nice setup I would have never dreamed of using the ashtray as a place to put a gauge or anything else but pretty ingenius. How hard was putting in aftermarket electric windows and doorlocks and what kind are you using? Ive been thinking about taking the guts out of my 86 Blazer doors and using them on my 87 but havent quite made up my mind yet. How hard is it to change from no elec to elec?

I also used a factory wiring harness that I got from Capt. Kaos so everything under the dash is from GM. The remote door locks are by Autoloc. This one has a 4 channel remote so I can add some other features later. While the doors were apart, they lined the inside of them with Brown Bread sound deadner. It's amazing how much quiter my truck is inside now.....

Looking real nice and clean as always. It would be cool to see a larger feature layouts in the mags.
I wasn't aware that SPW made window kits for these trucks... or did you have to retrofit one of their other kits? One other question, does your doors close with a soft 'thud' now that you lined them? Oh, now how 'bout a current pic of what's under the hood?

What really amazes people is when I tap on the fender with my finger and it sounds like an empty can. Then I tap on the door and it sounds like a full can. It's really that much of a difference. Hopefully the latest updates under ther hood will be wrapping up in the next few weeks. I'll post so many pics then that you will be sick of looking at it....

No pics from before the scrubbing. It was freakin' dirty though. 3 different 'strippings' w/aircraft stripper. Then some scrubbing w/a scotchbrite.
I still haven't progressed beyond that though. I do have the engine stands & motor mounts + the trans c.member & mount so as soon as I decide which way I'm goin', it'll be installed in no time. BTW . . . ..... the EGR was PURE-SOLID carbon & crap. That thing was running rich as a pig & had the funk to prove it. I bet I threw away @ least 12oz of carbon deposit 'crust' from the piston tops & the intake EGR passages.

Hey Ken, how much Brow Bread was put in your truck?? Was it dual layered all around or more or less in some places vs. others??
I have heard really good things about it. Have you had the opportunity to compare it to Dynamat?? My cousin just did his '82 w/ dynamat. I tried to tell him about Brow Bread, but he was set on going w/ the more common name around here. I want to try the brown bread in mine. I guess then I will be able to compare... well, eventually. Ha ha. I think it is still going to be a while before I get her up and running again, but I am not giving up on her.
