What do you guys use for wheels for a 3/4 ton and tires? Can you use late model wheels?

Thanks

Yeah you can, Wes has a couple trucks that look great with 8 lug Silverado 2500 wheels. The previous owner on my truck even put these on. I believe anything in the 8x6.5 configuration will fit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm running 16.5x9.75 chrome spokes, with the black Hammered Paint on the centers (due to rust ), with 33-12.50 BFG A/Ts.

With the 8 lug 2500 do you have to use back spacer?

I use "Man Killers"..........aka "Splits"

Going to put some late model GM 8 bolts on it when I am finished and save the splits for the winter as I'll put snow tires on them.

I'm putting Hummer H2 wheels on my truck with 35x12.50x17" Pro Comp Xterrains. You can see a couple of pics here: http://www.dmwtech.com/gallery/v/k20/

The center caps are modified Chevy 2500 caps that I got off Ebay for $30.

TP from Cntl PA, how do you get inspected with the man killers? I was told they are not legal for road use in PA.

Hey 72 customcamper, Those are the same hubcaps that came stock on my 70 camper special. I know these are the stock caps since I have pictures of the truck when new. (My dad bought it new in 70)

Do all the C20s have 8-lug wheels? The 1971 C20 I am looking at has 6-lugs.

Stock up to 72 the bowtie in the center would be blue, 73-up has the yellow bowtie...

I had four 7.5/16 bias ply tires on 16x6 split rims when I started driving my truck, then went to four 8 lug 15x8 wagon wheels with new 31/10.5/15's. Turned out that the rear tires weren't big enough for me (needed bigger tires to lower highway RPM's). Took the rear tires off and threw on some 33/12.5/16.5's on stock 16.5x9.75 wheels that I bought for $20 and that's what I have now.

Unless they changed the law this year, they're ok to run on a pickup.......

All the C20s/K20s of the '67 - '72 era are 8 lug. That truck is either a 3/4 ton body on a 1/2 ton chassis, or someone has swapped out the rear axle and the front suspension for 1/2 ton stuff.

Thats what was kinda worrying me, the VIN reads out to a 1971 C-20 but its been converted to 4wd somewhere along the way. All four wheels on this truck are 6-lug, is thats whats on the C/K10s?

The hubcaps you have are stock for 71 & maybe '72 trucks. The '73 caps are flat dog dish style?
