What color is your soft top?
I'm about 75% sure I'm gonna pull the trigger and get a Fasttrac soft top while they're on sale this month ($560). I just can't decide on a color.
My Blazer is blue. My hard top is black, so I guess I'll probably go that way out of default. I'm just not crazy about white. I wouldn't mind getting a blue one, but they only offer blue in denim. Any ideas? Any pics of soft tops other than black? Thanks. |

You can get fabric swatches from STC (or who ever you are ordering from). I went with the white top because it was a dead match to the off-white interior. I was concerned about it being a bright white, but it is definately an off-white. The denim textures are nice. If I were ordering a black top, I would strongly consider it.
My '69 has an old Kayline soft top on it. They are basically the same as the snap top. If I were to order another top, I would consider the snap top again over the fasttrack. It just seems simplier. I can put the top down in a about 2 minutes and put it back up in about 4. Putting the top down with the fasttrack takes considerably longer. You have to zip out the rear and side windows, fold them up and put them in their bags, unsnap the top from two of the bows, unsnap and pull from the track on the windshield frame and then fold it up aound the the third bow. The only plus I really see is that your windows are slightly more protected by being in a bag rather than folded up with the top in the back. You still have to drill holes in the bedsides, windshield frame and tailgate - probably just as many as with a snap top. The holes are just covered with a "track" rather than snaps. (there are still 6 snaps in the windshied frame). Install isn't terrible, but the instructions aren't great. Just take your time while installing. You don't want to drill a hole in the wrong place. Here are some pics of my truck right after completing the install. Good luck and let us know what you decide (with pictures of course.)

No Photos with it up, only problem I am having is Oak trees stain it and my stitching is dry rotting, top is great. Not sure the brand but it is a snap top.

That's a good price. I bought mine through http://offcamber4x4.com/. It was round $640. I don't see them listed on the site anymore so they might not be selling them.
If they don't have any made up, it may take a while to get the top.I ordered mine in the beginning of July last year and it didn't arive until the end of August. Summer was basically over so I didn't install it until this year.

Thanks for the pics, bouncy. The snap-on top definitely sounds more convenient; but I just don't like the way it slants from the tailgate to the last support bow.
I guess I'll go with the black denim. They don't make the blue denim anymore; they said they can't get the material. |

I have a spice fast track. I would call it dark tan. My '72 bzr will be black metallic. Think that it will look good black & tan.

I've never heard of a Spice Fast Track? Where can I get more info about them? I couldn't find anything on the internet in a brief search.

OlyHeeebz - I've got swatches for the tops someplace. You can have them if you want (just got to find them). If your going to the show Sunday at the XXX Drive-in, I could give them to you there. The spice is, as mastercraftkpk said, a dark tan. It has a slight hint of red to it. I would look great with a black truck.

^ XXX Drive In? Sounds like my kind of place. Don't think I can make it all the way out to WA, though.

Yeah, I always feel funny typing that one in. It is a Root Beer and Hamburger place. The owner loves classic cars so he hosts multiple events there on weekends during the summer and has cruises there every saturday night.

Just ordered Fasttrac in black denim. If everything goes well (road noise, heat, etc.) I won't have to put my hard top on again.

If the road noise starts to bother me, I replace it with a CD. :-)

^ Yeah, I ordered one at the end of July, when they were still on sale, and it was delivered last week. I'm still trying to gather up enough gumption to try and install it, lol.

Thanks. So it sounds like the transaction was a good one. I guess I know where I'll buy mine.
