Progress pics, what ya think?

Here are some new pics of my truck. Some of you have seen the 81-82 front bumper with driving lights installed. I have new tires mounted on my polished slot wheels, they are 31x10.50x16.5. The last pics are of my newly installed big truck tach. Many thanks to Tony(84 pumpkin) for selling me the tach cluster and showing me how to put my original clock into it. I will soon be putting on my new dash after I get my new bezel. Enjoy! David

Hey 82C10, yes I got those lights off Ebay. They are the combo fog/driving lights, and they fit in the cut out very nice. I am going to work on them some more, and try to get them a little further back. I had to cut my outer bumper braces to get them to fit. Lynx, this guage cluster is out of a C-40 or C-70. I think they are like dump trucks and flat bed haulers. I bought it from 84 pumpkin on this board.

It is looking good but one more thing I see you should do. Paint all the pointers in the dash the same color. I used foresant (sp.) paint on mine. It may just be the picture but they look like some of them are not the same color. I like the lights on the bumper.

That's coming along really nice. The slotted mags look great. They give it a really clean look. I am envious of your gauge cluster. It makes me wish I had taken the time to find a fuel/tach gauge so I could run a clock in mine....

OK, in my defense I didn't need one 4 years ago because I didn't own a restored 77 then. I owned an 82 Blazer that was obviously not headed in the restored direction....

DBLSPRT68 sorry bro, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Your truck rocks...

Hey guys, THANKS for the compliments! I got the wheels off Ebay last year, I got the lights listed here" http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COMBO...QQcmdZViewItem "just because of the size and being a combo light. I bought the truck(the original truck) 5 years ago, and it had the suburban front already on it. This truck you see here, is a mixture of a 1982 C-20 rolling chassis and a 1983 C-10 Silverado cab and bed. I took both trucks apart in my back yard and put one back together with all the good stuff. Next in line is putting a new dash pad in(all ready have) and a new bezel(on order). I also bought a f@rd f250 third brake light/bed light that I will be installing soon. Thanks again, David

Cluster

What years and truck models did those clusters come out of? Is it a direct bolt in for an 87 model?

Justin, the f@rd brake light is off the 90's to present F250. It looks like it's going to fit very well, but I will have to cut the hole out bigger on the cab. Gary, according to Crossy's info on 73-87.com, the 87 EFI trucks can't use the tach cluster because of the signal needed from the VSS. I'm thinking if you keep the original speedo to your truck, it may work ?? Maybe someone else might know? I have dual tanks, and the fuel guage on my truck hasn't worked in a long time, so I was thrilled to see my fuel guage move when I hooked up this new cluster. Such a little thing like knowing how much gas is in the tank, is BIG; REALLY BIG .David

fade94, My truck did have cruise. I've been removing all the parts and tossing them(sorry). I pulled the engine stuff off last year, and just recently pulled the dash wires. All of the parts are gone except for my turn signal switch, it didn't work anyway. Thanks for the compliments everyone! I will be posting more as I go. David
