Cameo?

I am kinda new to these trucks and i am wondering what is special about the cameo pickup bed on these trucks and how rare it is to find a cameo bed on a 1955 Chevy Pickup. Thank you for the help.

Green, The Cameo Bed has Fiberglass panels for the sides and tailgate cover and are fairly rare. Other features are a hidden spare tire carrier, and retractable cables instead of chains to hold the gate in the open position. The Cameo was built from 1955 (second Series) to 1958. They stopped making the Cameo half way into the 1958 production year, thus no Cameos were built in 1959. GMC also had a version of the Cameo and it was called the GMC "Carrier" (and sometimes it has been called a "Suburban Carrier") My 2cents worth...rico
