New dizzy bit got a miss.

Ok i got the new pertronix dizzy in along with all new plug wires. I fire it up and I got a miss. Thinking I was 1 tooth off I put the timing light on it and its set to 8 degrees. I have checked my wires again and I have em all on the right place. Anyone run into this one?

Thanks

if it's a constant miss put your timing light on each plug wire till you find the one thats not firing// then try changing plugs between cylinders to see if it's a plug then switch wires to see if it's a bad wire

When you find the dead puppy.. check the wire and the connectors at each end. Sometimes the distributer end boots don't fit perfect and the contact isn't made.

Also check the free play on the dizzy, at the rotor. Sometimes they need to be shimmed at the intake to space the dizzy body up a little. If it needs shimming it could be forcing the rotor into the cap and pushing it cockeyed? Been there, done that.....took me ages to figure it out too!

check your distributor cap to see if the wires are connected in the proper sequence.

Check the plug gap. It changes when you go to HEI.
