Arrow UPDATED Parts for sale in New England

<update 2005-08-09> I've lowered the price on most things, and added some more of my jun... er, spare parts.

I'm converting garage space into a wood shop, and need to get rid of lots of parts from past projects. Most are from a 70 Chevy C10, but there's some other stuff mixed in there too. Alot of sheet metal, and bucket seats too! Located in Cranston, RI.

Check the page for pics and details. Contact me at rolm@cox.net with any questions, or if you spot something broken on the page.

Thanks!

Hey Lou,

I would be interested in some stuff if you do not need all the panels. I also would be willing to pick the stuff up for you as I am going down there next week for work anyway.

Arkracing;
I _did_ have a 5-lug wishbone rear last year. I ended up giving away an entire rolling chassis, cab, and stepside shortbed. That was phase 1, this is phase 2. Hopefully, somewhere around phase 6 or 7 I have a new project truck...

No, sorry, no SBC accel rod. Original motor was the 6cyl, and the truck was mostly disassembled when I got it.

I am interested in the heads and intake from that 355 SBC.

Sort of tempted about the whole thing.

You have to have a price in mind that will get that out of there.

grendel;

I updated the list about the engine. You can jump directly to it here:

http://members.cox.net/rolm_bazaar/Systemax.html

I'm hoping that the price convinces you to take the whole thing. There's lots of good internals, and if you're lucky there's just a blocked oil galley. I'm offering it for about half of what it cost me to build it, really just because I can't guarantee that the block is salvageable, and I don't have the time to rebuild it myself.

Grendel:

I didn't quote any numbers from magazine articles because it all depends on how you build the shortblock.

Here's a link to one writeup from not too long ago:

http://www.sporttruck.com/howto/1482/index3.html

And here's my breakdown of the article:

http://members.cox.net/rolm_bazaar/Systemax2.html

The overview of the article can be summed up with two points:

1) Using a stock GM Goodwrench crate motor (which doesn't meet Holley specs), the basic SysteMAX kit provided up to 136 hp and 44 lb-ft of torque over a stock set of cam/heads/intake.

2) Using a shortblock built to Holley specs resulted in roughly 408 hp and 396 lb-ft of torque.

I never dynoed the engine or took the car to the track, but I definitely smoked my share of mustangs with it, and it destroyed not one but two transmissions. Even with the biga$$ cam it was stable enough to drive everyday (yes, I commuted with it). It just had a nasty appetite for cams.
If I were going to build another car within the next 5 years, I would definitely hang on to this. But I'm not, so I can't.

Dagnabbit, the more I read about this thing, the more I'm dying to squirrel it away again til I can get to it :P

Grendel: RE trades:

About the only thing I'm looking for is a mid-80's Honda Magna or Sabre. Preferrably 1986, preferrably V65, non-running is OK. The only project I'm hanging on to is a wrecked 1986 V65 Magna, and I need guages and radiator and lots of other little doodads, so I'm looking to buy a complete parts bike.

If you decide to breakup the engine, I would be interested in the heads.

I have a 85 Sabre 750 (I think it is, anyway).

Runs well, from what I remember. It's sitting in a friend's barn in Maine.
