Exclamation Speed warning

I don't have a picture yet (picture now), but on the speedo gauge, there is an additional white needle. What is this?

on mine there's a red light, but one needle. maybe a speed warning or limit of some sort.

Is it adjustable? I haven't seen one of these before. Is there a light with it that I need to look for? How rare?

It should have a small knob near the light switch to adjust the white needle. The knob is connected to the back of the speedometer by a short, flexible cable. It may be laying behind your dash. It also has an extra wiring harness and buzzer that's mounted behind the dash on the firewall. It buzzes when your speed gets to the preset limit. Yes, it's pretty rare. There was a nice one on the parts board that sold complete the other day for $250. If you want to sell it, or trade it, contact GSFMECH. He wants one.

I just got the truck yesterday in trade. I haven't seen one before but it's cool. My son will be driving the truck so I will be getting the buzzer and everything fixed on it. I'm sure he'll love that....

You have to make sure you have the stud on the back of the guage cluster to allow for the current to pass to the white speedo-needle. You'll need the wiring harness...the buzzer..the cable..the nut to hold the cable...the rubber knob for adjusting the cable and needle. Its hard group of item to piece together if you dont have a complete setup to start with..I know,I spent more building one than buying one complete. Anyway... it's a sought after piece..even I would buy another if it comes available..

Isn't that the highbeam indicator?

Is this it...

Is this the cable I need?
Which of these harnesses, if any, will work?

The cable looks correct. The bottom harness appears to be correct. One terminal slides on to the back of gauge stud, one goes to buzzer, and one goes to fuse block. Looks like the ground wire for buzzer is missing. Haven't looked at mine in a long time.

Good luck - Bob

Couldn't find anything about a specific buzzer for this. What type does it need?

My speedalert, a '68 model, has no light. It just buzzes when you go over the set speed. AKA poor man's cruise control.
