what trans to use?
I have a 1985 k5 blazer with a 350 crate motor and the orginal 700R4 trans. The trans has lost overdrive and i am sure the rest cannot be far behind. My question is will a T400 or T350 bolt up w/out much change or is rebuilding the 700R4 the best way to go.

I would get the 700 rebuilt by a good shop with heavy duty parts. I had one that lasted a long time with pretty hard abuse. But they do have their limits.

I would stay with the 700. You'll miss it later. It has a lower first for better take off and you'll surely suffer from bad gas milage if you change.
