Door Seal Help Please
I installed new door seal rubber, good stuff, soft seal, my issue is I have to slam the door hard to get the door to catch. I have adjusted everything, any suggestions. Very disappointing.

Weather stripping is new and not broke in.....try parking the truck with the door shut in the hot sun and see if it gets any better......Paul

Just checking to make sure you have the hollow core with molded corners. Some companies sell solid core and no molded corners. Those will not ever break in..... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Bill Athey gave me a neat bit of advice that helped. Take an ice pic and poke holes around the perimeter every 3"-4" to relieve some air. The rubber is compressed so you won't see these holes at all. I was worried before trying it but it worked good and it still took a few months for the seal to relax. Now they shut perfect. Before you always had to slam them HARD!

Thanks to all, I have the soft seal, hollow inside, the doors shut but I have to slam them. To make matters worse, The D*mn door locks work fine when the door is open, when they are shut wont lock. Any suggestions.

Honestly it sounds like your door is out of adjustment---if the locks wont work when closed you have too much pressure on them is what Im thinking
