Crap! Popped a tire

I was moving the '67 from the backyard to the front over the weekend, and as luck would have it, a piece of angle iron reached out and bit my tire! Tore right through the sidewall.

I was kinda bummed but figured I'll just have to run in today and buy another one. Well, this tire is no longer in production! It's a Wrangler AT, 33x12.5x16.5. Anybody have an extra, or need 3?

The reason this isn't in the parts board, is while trying to find a replacement I've been told that over the years these 16.5 rims are getting less and less common. And this 33" tire on my 2WD truck is way huge. I like the looks of it, but curious what everyone else is running on this size of rim.

So far the only option I have found is the BFG A/T's in the same size. Totally sucks having to buy 4 tires when you need just one, doh!

Can't help ya on the tire, but I did buy a 71 disk brake suspension on a truck from a junkyard and it had 33's on it. I thuoght it looked good, but it looked like they would scrub with a hard bump. Are you trying to sell that truck, or did you just buy it?

I just bought it, well a few weeks ago. There is more info at this thread:

And these tires do look good, so far haven't rubbed. But if I have to go with 4 new tires I would probably like one size smaller just to make sure they don't catch a fender.

I went through the hassle of finding a set of 16.5" tires myself--ended up going with the 31 inch BFG All-Terrains. They carry them at COSTCO (I think the 33"s too) but they are 126 bucks apiece. A local place got them for me at the same price so I went with them.

No other manufacturer makes a 16.5 tire that big anymore. A couple companies still make 8.5 wide and 7.5 wide tires (that is how they size any 16.5 below 31x10.50x16.5) and Les Schwab has about 200 31x10.50x16.5's in a wharehouse in Seattle but they want more $$ to ship them to Spokane and I would have had to pay upfront--before I even saw the tires.

I felt like I really wanted to use the stock hubcaps and I might put beauty rings on after I do another cut and polish on the caps--but I got the look I wanted.
