Vacation truck pics

How many of you take your trucks on vacation? I go camping just about every year and have pics from different places. Thought I'd show off a few because I just got back from a trip.

Here's one from last year at Crater Lake. I believe there was a sign there saying that I was over 10k feet in elevation at that point. Truck sure ran like crap!! I live at sealevel, so there's a huge difference.

Now these are from this year. We're at Newberry Volacanic Monument in central Oregon. Here the trucks at about 6400ft elevation on East Lake in the crater. Again it sucked!

Here's camp at Lake Billy Chinook again central Oregon.

Here it is at on the rim of Billy Chinook.

No truck here but pretty pic. This is from a view point in the LaPine Oregon state campground.

You can't tell from that last pic, but I'm glad to be back on the west side where things are GREEN!!! The desert is nice for awhile but everythings in shades of brown compared to here.

Didnt even realize there was a dodge in the picture... gotta keep quiet though, dad bought a new dodge last year..

Those are the main truck pics from the last 2 years. I have some from previous years but not on the computer at the moment. This trucks been a daily driver for me for 10-12 years now. It's time to start redoing the body/paint work actually. I was pretty pleased with the mileage coming home though. 350/th350 with all the usual goodies like comp cam etc. I drove 325 miles and went over Mt Hood in the process. Averaged almost 20mpg.

Great pics. As soon as I can afford a vacation, I'm taking my truck. (Of course, that so many years into the future, that we'll all be driving flying cars. I'll just have to upgrade the '72.)

Great scenery. The landscapes looked great too.

A recent issue of Fly Fishing Northwest said that East Lake has some big German Browns. Catch any?

We just got back from the east coast with the El-Camino and had a blast.

Also we just got a Class III hitch installed on the '68 today to tow the 21' house trailer to go camping next month.

Lapine State park

We have before and will be again real soon fishing tht stretch of the Deschutes River in your last picture. Also decent mountain biking. I like the pics, thanks, I will try to remember to snap some and do the same. Plan to live in that area some day if I can afford it. I get tired of the brush and too much green in addition to spring allergies every year.

It is a nice area, but I like it better here. Even with all the rain we get. Funny thing bout the allergies, turns out that when I went swimming in Billy Chinook I must have gotten into some toxic algae. Went swimming and broke out in Hives. Huge welts all over. Spent my whole vacation covered in them. Come home and read in the Oregonian that the Deschutes area is having a problem with toxic algae.. and what does it cause...exactly what happened to me. Crazy.

Cheyenne, that cab you sold me is coming along nice. Won't be long I hope before I spray some paint. You going to Wes's next weekend? I'm thinkin of headin up there.

my goal next year when I get done restoring the 72 burban, is to restore a 72 airstream travel trailer to tow behind it!

the burban I have now, my parents bought new when I was born and we have been all over the continent(s) in it!
