Did chevrolet ever equip a 1968 truck
with a 396/375 aluminium head motor from the factory?

I'm curious to see the answer on this - personally, I doubt it. That was definitely not a truck motor. I had one (bought new) in a '69 El Camino. Quite a strong motor, and the HP rating was said to be under-rated by as much as 50 HP. It could have used a deeper sump (with baffling), and after breaking valve springs for the third time, I put in a set of Isky racing springs. I never got over 10 mpg on the highway, but that car sure would set you back in the seat...

nope, no HI-PO motors in any 67 - 72 trucks. Not as an RPO anyways.
