steering parts for '67 help needed - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Moog lists all the parts for a steering parts rebuild except mine's a '67 C10 2WD but the list is only for 68-72. Does anyone have an answer for a '67? By the way, mine is lowered 5" front if that's important.
I only looked for Moog...is there a better way to go?

What steering parts are you looking for? Not sure about what you did to lower the truck but the 68 parts should be the same for stock. Power steering was not offerd on the 67 C10 but I believe they did on 68. I have a 67 but not lowerd and have found any part I needed. Am curious as to other answers you get.

I found info now on the FAQ. Should have looked their already...so I'm figuring out now that the partially completed project I bought which has a power steering box already and it has disks must mean that is has 71+ parts there....so, I suppose that must mean I have to buy the later parts for my '67.
I'm a little unsure since the previous owner is clueless and I'm not that familiar with parts swap issues on these trucks as this is my first C10.
I'm going to buy MOOG parts: Pitman Arm K6131, Idler Arm K6096T, Inner Tie Rod End ES370R, Outer Tie Rod End ES350L unless someone can give me better recommendations.

just make sure you buy them from somewhere you can exchange them. The 71/72 inner and outer tie rods are different from a 67-70. Compare the parts you are removing with the new ones before mounting. You can git'r done.

67 did have power steering optional, but it was an external ram set up...think early corvette.
The differance is a dimple. The 67 is not dimpled on the frame where a 68 and later is. This dimple provides clearance for the steering gear box, and needs to be there if a later box is installed. Some will just place a spacer or washers to move out the box, but that is a bad idea.
