What did you get done last weekend?

No one started one and I had a great time to talk about.

Went recreational junk-yardin with Tomatocity (aka Tim). Did the JYPT!!! That's Junk-Yard Power Tour for the un-initiated

Hit up the Doughnation Depot (yep, that's how they spell it) in Antelope, and the Pick-n-Pulls in Rocklin, Rancho and Sacramento. I found a 74 blazer tank with straps and sending unit for $16. I gotta get the hole brazed up but that is no big deal and I have some US Standard tank sealer lyin around on bench stock. Woo Hoo!!! Tim got part of the A/C evap "suitcase" that he needed and he found the exact windshield washer bottle bracket he wanted. The major dissapointment of the day was to see a complete intact bedside tool-box that was crushed by the fork-lift. It WAS in good shape. No rust or anything.

Stopped by Tims on the way back to my place and he grabbed his intake that needed a helicoil where the thermostat bolts. He then says to me you want that bumper or what? I'm like sure and he GIVES me his bumper and draw hitch!! What a guy!!! He even helped me remove it.
Got home and we finished up the thread-sert pretty fast but evidently there was one in it allready or SOMETHING. Burnt up my drill bit drilling the thing out.
Tim then got to work blasting some of his parts in my cabinet and I went tinkering with my back bumper. I had just laid down and had my nose next to my trailer harness when I smelled burned electrical!!! I was like WTF!!?? How could this be burned? Wait a minute... ITS GETTING STRONGER!!! I rolled to my left and there was a HUGE plume of smoke billowing over my fence!! AGGGGHHHH!! My shop vac I had hooked up to the blast cabinet had bit the weenie!!! Went SCOOTIN for the cord and got it unplugged before the fire got out of the motor housing. Wheew! Safe! Wife woulda had fun with that one...
By now it was gettin late and it had been darned hot all day but I decide I was going to install that bumper and hitch right now. Figured HAN is coming up and I have 64 hours scheduled to work this week. If it don;t get done now it aint gettin done in time. To make a long story short it was a pain and drillin those eight 1/2" holes was not easy. Tim actually drilled the last 2 for me cause my lil spagetti arms just couldnt hack it.
It was a great weekend and I hope yours was just as good.

Yes and all of this was completed between 7a - 9p. My bu** was draggin' and I was hungry after having one beer but wanting more (dare not). Good time had by all and the weather clear and about 100* (Gatorade weather).

Help a board member move a propane tank (biggum). Most of the weekend was prepping and taking my daughter off to school. Instead of 5 minutes to High School, it's now 250 miles to get to school. Oh well, hopefully all these smarts will support dad and his truck habits down the road. Oh yeah, I mowed the yard.

Solver how did you find they fit? That old door looks decent from the pic...was it rusted?

Everything fits good.Right fender is a nos fender I got from 72ironmike.I love it,perfect fit.The doors I bought from another board member, who bought them from LMC they also fit great.Driver fender(came from LMC) fits good, although I do need to work a little on the lower section,it sticks out away from the door some. The yellow doors have only surface rust on the bottom side. They have speaker holes and they have holes from the bigger mirrors the po must of had on at one time.

We drove to Nashville,TN for the weekend to visit my brother and his wife. Went to a fantastic cruise-in at Stones River Mall in Murfreesboro, TN. Hundreds of cars and trucks. Everything from mild to wild. Lots of 67-72's there, too. They do it EVERY Friday night from April to October.

Spent time cleaning the front of the motor, and all related peices on the Z28, the water pump went out last wknd, and as all car and truck junkies know, we can't just put a new one on without sprucing it up! I put the paint on the front of the 350 tonight, so hopefully it will go back together tomorrow nite.
