F/S - Complete Truck, In Pieces - Parting Out Near Detroit

Hey all, I have a started project truck that I need to get rid of due to lack of time/interest/money. It started out as a 1972 SWB A/C truck. The truck was running and driving at the time it was taken apart. The cab was pretty much junk, so I had gotten a 1971 A/C cab to replace it. The dash is still in the old cab. It was originally a 307 truck, but now has a 454/700R4. The engine was rebuilt by myself, but never fired. The trans works fine and has a shift kit. I have pretty much everything needed to put together a truck. I would be willing to part it out, as long as shipping hassles don't get out of hand. Let me know what you need, and I'll tell you what I have and what condition it's in. Thanks

What are you asking for the package deal? How much just for the frame if it is good? Also how much for 454?

Frame is in great shape. Would actually be a rolling chassis. Currently has a 2/4 drop using spindles and coils. Frame was painted with POR15. New ball joints and inner and outer tie rod ends. All new Ujoints and carrier. New rear wheel cylinders. Hard brake lines all run, just needs one front hose. Bought new ones, one is too short. Only issues with the frame would be possible needing an adjustable panhard bar in the rear, and some rust around the cab mount holes before I painted it. Right now there is a cab sitting on the frame, the engine and trans, as well as a latemodel stepside bed. $750 obo

Mirrors are junk. Sorry.

454 is complete intake to pan. Would need carb, starter, fuel pump, distributor. Engine was rebuilt by myself during a college engines course a few years back. 040 over, hypereutectic pistons, all new bearings, fairly mild Crane cam (not sure of grind number), Crane lifters, Crane valve springs, 3 angle valve job, all new valve guides, mild cleanup work in ports, Edelbrock intake, GM Performance valve covers. Engine is all black except for intake and black and aluminum valve covers. $750 obo.

As far as a package deal goes, I've been contemplating that. I have quite a bit tied up in the truck, and have nearly everything needed to put the truck together. I really don't want to give it away, that's why I posted it as parts first to see what people needed. I'd probably have to get around $2500 for the package if I went that way.

Yeah I should be able to get some pics put up later on today. I have a lot of good sheetmetal for the truck too. I have one good original fender that has been repaired, one aftermarket fender, one aftermarket tailgate, aftermarket wheelwell patch panels for an original bed, two good doors, a good hood, good grill, good bumpers, all A/C parts, and probably other parts I'm forgetting.

The cab is great shape overall. Someone painted the blue over pretty much everything inside and out, so the vin plate and rear chrome molding is painted. I do have a title for the other cab though. I don't know if you already have a cab that you could use for a title. Underneath is in great shape. A PO replaced the rockers, but did a crappy job blending them into the A pillars, so they'd either need to be finished, or just redone. There is a tiny bit of surface rust in a few spots, but none that I can recall in the drip rail area. Let me know if you'd just want the bare cab, or want the rusty one for all the interior parts, then I can give you a price. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. THanks

Tires and wheels will stay with the chassis, as will the drop kit. I need to get $750 for it complete. Thanks

Zoomy - There are a couple ahead of you on the engine. I believe they are 781 heads, but not 100% sure. It's been a while since I've looked at the castings.

I have most of the A/C stuff, but it's spread out all over the place. Some of it is still on the junk cab I have, including all the interior stuff. I know I have the pump, but I don't think the condensor is any good.

I'm asking $750 obo on the cab. I'm about 35 minutes from Port Huron, 10 minutes south of I 69.

I have some decent sheetmetal if anyone is looking, including fenders, doors, a hood, inner fenders, 88-98 stepside bed, a nice grill, nice bumpers, nice black bench seat, all glass.

Yeah it's from a 72 half ton. I'm assuming you want the vac line with the roundish plug on the end . . .
