Do you have a PCV deal on one of the valve covers?

Check your pcv valve by pulling it out and shaking it lengthwise. If it doesn't rattle, it is gummed up and either needs cleaned or replaced.

Everbody I have ever heard that used a chrome dipstick tube complained that it leaked. Get a new factory tube.

Get a factory tube, or a new chrome one and sand the chrome off, them apply some goo (copper silicon, etc) and reinstall. Also, breathers do not eliminate the reason, or the need for a pcv valve. The pcv valve creates a slight negative pressure in the crankcase and thus, keeping the oil in the dipstick tube.
BTW I had the same trouble on a 350.

Get rid of one of the breathers, and install a PCV set up plumbed to the carb or intake (perferably carb) and I agree on getting the chrome tube outa there too.....then you'll be set.
