I have a chance to buy a 1999 2nd seat from a tahoe. Anyone know if this will fit in my 72 c-20?

If your cab is a low hump cab it will fit.
They won't fit if you have a high hump.

What's your tranny? Auto or manual?
Manual = high hump tranny cover, seat won't fit.
Auto w/400 = high hump also...
Auto w/350 = low hump, your all set.

All this said, I tried a 2003 second row seat in my high hump truck and there was no way it would work.
Maybe 99's and 03's are different.
The problem with mine was the middle 'feet' they were to close together and couldn't straddle the hump as to sit directly on the floor.

If your not sure you have a high hump it's easy to check. Low humps are only a couple of inches high and are "part of" the floor, not removable unless you cut it out. High humps are several inches higher than the floor and are removable via bolts that hold it to the floor.

I just bought a 99 silverado 60/40 seat for mine. I haven't installed it yet. Someone on the board used it when I did research for mine. He said that you will need to shim the right side of the driver seat and that's pretty much it. The brackets are pretty easy to drill out oblong if you need to. There' s a pretty good tech article in classic trucks about it. Can't remember what issue. Anyway, it said to beware of 00 and newer trucks because the seat brackets are harder to fit. Anyway, I've attached pics. The first (brown & white truck) is from a 98 truck. The 2nd (blue truck) is from a 2001 sierra. The 3rd is from a 2nd row burb. the last is from a 93 split bench. Hope this helps.

btw, I really like the look of the 2nd row burb minus the head rests. The pull down armrest is pretty sweet and it folds and disappears.
